Heaven is sounding sweeter all the time. This expresses our feeling at the passing of Mrs. Gail Story. Gail was a loving, free-spirited and fun wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Her family and friends loved being with Gail. There was never a dull moment when she was around. She was always ready for the next adventure.

Gail suffered a massive stroke at the age of 58. This limited her activity over the next 27 years, but she continued to be active though confined to a wheelchair. Nothing was going to keep her from living her life with her beloved husband (Gilman) of 64 years always at her side. She loved her boys, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was her life.

Gail was a faithful follower of Christ. She was a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene. There she played piano, organ, taught Sunday School and worked with children and youth.

Gail was a kindergarten teacher and also severed as a local church daycare director.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Now she will be eagerly awaiting that great day, when all of God’s children are gathered in their eternal home.

Mrs. Story passed away Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020 at Cullman Regional Hospital.  She was born May 8, 1935 to William R. and Lorene Styers Sessions.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Gilman Story; sons Rev. Greg (Charity) Story and Geron (Sandy) Story; brothers Phillip (Mary) Sessions and Billy (Faye) Sessions; sister Barbara Ragsdale; grandchildren Brooks (Matthew) White, Blake Story, Brock Story, and Ashton Story; great-grandchildren Garner White, Hollis White, and Paxton Story; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday at Cullman Funeral Home from 10 a.m.-noon.
