FAIRVEIW, Ala. – The Fairview Aggies are still set to kick off the season next Friday but there will be a change of venue and opponent. The Aggies were originally scheduled to kick off the season at D.A.R. August 21 but will now travel to Falkville for a jamboree game the same night instead. Fairview Head Coach George Redding said the Patriots are dealing with a COVID-19 quarantine and he and his players are thankful they were able to land another opponent in time for next week.

“We’re just embracing each and every day so whatever we’re dealt, we’re going to accept that and find a way to appreciate it” Redding said. “So, we’re just thankful for the opportunity to go over and play this week at Falkville. So, that’s the plan now and we’re excited about it.”

The Aggies become the second local team to have their season-opener changed this week after Holly Pond’s matchup with Brindlee Mountain was canceled. Fairview is making the jump from Class 4A to 5A this season and the new grind will get underway for the Aggies Friday night at Falkville.
