Graveside services for Arnilla Cook Hanes, 100, of Cullman will be Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Lystra Baptist Church with Rev. John Garrison and Rev. Darryl Cook officiating. The body will lie in state from 9-10 a.m.

Moss Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hanes passed away Friday, July 31, 2020. She was born March 9, 1920 to Franklin E. and Ada S. (Talley) Cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband G.N. (Bill) Hanes; daughter and son-in-law Cheryl H. (Jim) Kanzenbach; grandson Jarod N. Golden; and all 10 of her siblings.

Survivors include her sons William Franklin (Barbara G.) Hanes, Ronnie Michael (Adele L.) Hanes, and John David Hanes and her daughter Teresa H. (Joseph V.) Golden. Mrs. Hanes leaves behind eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Hanes attended Lystra Baptist Church her entire life, having been baptized there June 16, 1935. She spoke often of the loving home that she was blessed to have growing up, and deeply loved her parents and siblings. Arnilla loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She was blessed with a long life and many friends whom she loved like family. She loved to play the piano and sing in the choir. She had a deep love for her Lord and Savior. Arnilla was known for her sense of humor even up through the last hours of her life.

Having lost her husband at the age of 48, she worked hard to support her family and was known for her strong determination. Her passing has left a large hole in our hearts, but we know that she is rejoicing in heaven with the loved ones that were waiting there for her.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at The Folsom Center for the wonderful care they took of Arnilla for the past seven years and the love they shared with her. Also Comfort Care Hospice for her easing her transition to eternal life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cemetery Fund at Lystra Baptist Church.
