CULLMAN, Ala. – Two people from Morgan County are behind bars in the Cullman County Detention Center following their arrests Wednesday in connection to a burglary at a property in Crane Hill.

The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said deputies and investigators arrested Amanda Hope Wright, 34, of Hartselle and Austin DeWayne Isbell, 18, of Decatur.

According to a media release, “CCSO deputies and investigators were made aware of a burglary in the Crane Hill area at a residence on Smith Lake. The suspects stole a boat trailer that was located at the residence and various other items from inside the residence.”

CCSO investigators, after consulting with the Cullman County District Attorney’s Office, charged the suspects with third-degree burglary, third-degree theft of property and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wright also had a felony drug warrant with Morgan County.

“I commend the deputies and investigators for arresting these suspects, who are not from Cullman County, who came here to commit crimes. I am glad we were able to recover the victim’s property as well,” said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry. “I would also like to thank the deputies and investigators who constantly work hard to make our community safer by arresting these suspects.”

Wright and Isbell are being held in the Cullman County Detention Center without bond.
