Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Cullman celebrated its first congregational Mass this past Sunday, utilizing all safety precautions as deemed by the State and Bishop Robert Baker. Attendees gathered together in the Church parking lot, 6 feet apart and wearing face masks, to worship during regular liturgical services. While the Church has been streaming Mass and Eucharistic Devotion each day, this is the first time many of the parishioners have seen each other since the pandemic started.
Hopefully, the regular schedule of liturgies will be able to proceed soon when the Diocesan Bishop deems it safe for indoor celebrations.
Fr. Patrick Egan, OSB, pastor led the two Sunday services with two Hispanic Masses in the evening.
A beautiful Sunday morning outdoors brought much peace and calm to the parishioners who gathered in fellowship and gratitude for the services.
