Lloyd Edwin Morris, of Cullman, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at home. He was 97. Mr. Morris was born Jan. 3, 1923 in Van Wert, OH to his parents Earl and Velma Morris.
He married his wife Mary Edith Morris (also of Van Wert) in 1942. The couple moved to Cullman in 1973. Upon his wife’s death in 2018, the couple had been married 76 years.
Mr. Morris is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Harold and Donald.
A member of First United Methodist Church, he served on the Board of Trustees, Board of Stewards and the Foundation Board. After his retirement from Americold Corporation, his zest for life took him to Wallace State, where he developed impressive woodcrafting and upholstering skills. He was known by friends and family as a gentle man of character and wisdom.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son Jeffrey Morris of Lebanon, TN and daughter Connie (Billie) Griffin of Austin, TX. Also surviving are grandchildren Brian (Michelle Dion) Griffin, Chad (Amy) Griffin and their three children, Daryl (Marissa) Griffin and their three children, Darrin (Danielle) Griffin, and Amy Catherine Griffin.
An open invitation for public viewing will be provided Saturday, May 9, 2020 and Sunday, May 10, 2020, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home. A drive-up graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2020 at the Cullman City Cemetery.
