CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry on Monday announced that the lobbies of the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office and Cullman County Detention Center have been re-opened to the public. Both had been closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The sheriff said in a statement, “Today, Monday, May 4, 2020, I have reopened the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) lobby as well as the Cullman County Detention Center (CCDC) lobby. We will maintain social distancing in each lobby area for (the) foreseeable future allowing no more than four people in each lobby at one time. We will also be sanitizing each lobby throughout the day as well as a deep cleaning after hours before the next morning.”

He continued, “As I have said many times, the safety of our citizens is our top priority here at the CCSO, whether that’s taking criminals off the street, or keeping our office as sanitary as possible during these uncertain times.”
