Tillman Henry Stewart, 92, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Moss Service Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cullman Church of the Nazarene, Reverend Scott Sessions officiating, with interment in Mt. Zion Methodist Cemetery in Cullman.
He was born Dec. 7, 1923, in Cullman. His rebirth into the family of God was in 1951. He worked for the Army Corps of Engineers in Memphis, Tennessee, and later at the Buford Dam in Cumming, Georgia, as a civilian mechanic until retirement. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater as a military policeman. He was a member of the Nazarene Church.
He joins his wife of 64 years, Nodie Crumbley Stewart; his parents, Tillman Stone Stewart and Josie LeBertha Cofield Stewart; brothers, George Stewart, Fred Thomas Stewart, Lee R. Stewart, Willie R. Stewart Sr.; sisters, Mary Ollie Stewart, Ethel Victoria Stewart, Freda Lindsey, Nellie Gay, Della Creel and Savannah (Vanner) McCroy in heaven for a great reunion.
He is survived by two sisters, Jane Tidmore and Irene Lee; two daughters, Elouise (Phillip) Hughes and Kathy Wolfrom; three granddaughters, Linda (Bruce) Sedberry, Debbie (Chris) Knight and Tonya MacRae; and six great-grandchildren, including his special pal, Morgan Smith.
He will be missed by all including many nieces and nephews and cousins all of which he was very fond.
