CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) Deputy Adam Clark is recovering from several surgeries after being critically injured in a Feb. 11 car wreck. According to the CCSO, Clark’s “physical condition is good.”  Clark was transferred Wednesday to Shepherd Center in Atlanta. The CCSO said he will be there “for several months.”

Clark’s K9 partner, Figo, was in the vehicle with Clark and was also injured in the crash. The CCSO said Figo’s condition is improving, and he is at a private facility.

“I know Deputy Clark’s family would like me to convey to everyone how much they appreciate everyone’s prayers, cards and messages during this difficult time,” said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry.

CCSO Dispatch lost contact with Clark during heavy rain the night of Feb 11. Deputies located Clark more than an hour later, when they discovered he had wrecked along Alabama Highway 69 South just past County Road 8 and was unconscious.

Clark was transported by ambulance to Huntsville Hospital. K9 Figo was transported to a veterinary clinic at Auburn University.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is in charge of the investigation into the wreck, which Gentry said was caused by the weather conditions. Heavy rain was in the area at the time.

Anyone who would like to make a monetary contribution to help Clark may do so by visiting any Cullman Premier Bank of the South location or mailing a donation to the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office C/O Deputy Clark, 1910 Beech Ave. SE Cullman, AL 35055.
