Peggy Marie Yount, 70, of Crane Hill passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020. She was born April 17, 1949 in Guntersville to Henry Joseph Cowen and Generbell Lee Cannady.

Peggy was a homemaker. She had a love for birds and flowers, with a special fondness for hummingbirds. Peggy enjoyed cooking, camping with her family, thrift store shopping, and finding a good bargain. She was selfless and shared her finds with those she loved. Her belief was that if you left her home hungry, it was your own fault. Peggy was always on the go. Her grocery store trips often included five or six different stores, and a trip to Wal-Mart could become a day-long adventure. Peggy was the rock of her family. She was always making sure there was peace among those she loved, but when she was mad – she was mad! Peggy loved her family. Words cannot describe the intensity of her love for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. Her passing leaves her family heartbroken. She will be greatly missed.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Henry Joseph Cowen and Gennerbell Lee Cannady.

Survivors include her husband of almost 21 years Mike Yount; daughters Tina Turney (John) and Theresa Sisk; sisters Betty King and Sherrie McKissick; grandchildren Ryan Thomas, Megan Sisk, and Landon Sisk; great-grandson Taylin Napier; and great-granddaughter on the way Kaylin Napier.

Funeral services for Mrs. Yount are at noon Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020 in the Holly Pond Funeral Home chapel. Peggy will lie in state from 11 a.m. until services begin. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Ryan Thomas, Landon Sisk, Aaron Lynn, John Richie, Chris Thomas, and Ryan Schuman will serve as pallbearers. Friends visited with the family in the funeral home chapel Monday, Feb. 17, 2020 from 6-8 p.m.

Holly Pond funeral Home is honored to serve the Yount family.
