HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Wallace State Community College Alumni Association is hosting ACT prep courses for area students preparing to take the entrance exam.

The prep courses being offered by the Alumni Association are split into two sessions, allowing students the opportunity to choose between one or both sessions as needed. Both will be held in Bailey Center Room 511 and each workshop is $35.

The ACT Math and Science workshop will be held Monday, Feb. 24 from 4:30-8 p.m. The English and Reading workshop will be held Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Each session led by qualified instructors will include test taking tips and review and practice sessions. For the math and science portion, participants are encouraged to bring pencils, scratch paper and a calculator.

While the ACT is not required for general admission to the college, it can be used to determine in which English and math classes a student will first be enrolled at the college. It is also used in competitive applications for most Health Science programs and in many scholarship applications.
