It is with great sadness that the family of Delwin Carden Burdette, of Cullman announces her passing Friday, Jan. 31, 2020 at Woodland Village. Over the last few days, she was continuously surrounded with love from her family.
She was a loving mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was her daughters’ hero. Delwin worked hard as an ER nurse at the old Woodland Hospital and she also bred Westminster Old English Mastiffs.
Her parents Lester Lonell and Vivian Onzell Stricklin Carden and her daughter Stephanie “Carol” Long preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Melissa Long (Mitch) Novalis and Kimberly Michelle Burdette; grandchildren Stephen (Kasey) Barnett, Rachel (Justin) Berry, Janie Parson, Lauren (Josh) James, Elizabeth Seay (Robert) Elledge, Aaron Seay and Anna Seay; great-grandchildren Parker, Axel, Apollo, Waylon, Alex, Julie and Gabe; brothers Harry (Judie) Carden, Bruce (Deena) Carden and Philip (Vickie) Carden; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
The daughters wish to give a special thanks to their uncles, Harry, Bruce and Philip and to the staff of Woodland Village for their caring and loving support, their angel wings and the butterfly walk.
