Funeral service for Charles Rex Burns, 77, of Hanceville, will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Duck River Baptist Church with interment in the adjoining cemetery, Rev. Wayne Brown officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.
Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Burns passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Hanceville Nursing and Rehab. He was born November 28, 1938 to parents, Ervie Clent & Inez Lila Bice Burns.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Burns; brother, James Burns, and a grandson, Tyler Whitt.
Survivors include his sons, Tim (Pam) Burns, Jeff Burns; daughter, Pam (Micky) Whitt; brother, Darrell (Linda) Burns; sister, Joan (Joe) Stewart; sister-in-law, Glenda Burns; grandchildren, Bryan (Evelyn) Burns, Nicholas Burns, Emily (Matt) Styles, Jacob Burns, Clent Burns, Shawn (Kendra) Shelton, Albert (Arla) Shelton, Jason (Ashley) Whitt, Ashley Whitt; great-grandchildren, Nathan & Zoey Burns, Mariah & Jeremiah Burns, Ava, Mason Hannah and Savannah Shelton, Emilee & Kaylee Shelton, Dexter Styles, Autumn & Levi Burns; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be Monday evening at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
