CULLMAN, Ala. – On Thursday, Liletta Jenkins, state manager of the Alabama Children’s Policy Council, came to Cullman for the City’s presentation of its TraffickingFree Zone proclamation, and to recognize the Cullman County Children’s Policy Council for receiving the state agency’s 2019 Award of Excellence at a recent state conference in Montgomery. District Judge Kim Chaney accepted the award on behalf of the local council.
In presenting the award, Jenkins said, “This Children’s Policy Council was one of nine councils in the state of Alabama chosen to receive this prestigious award. I want to present this award today to Judge Chaney for his leadership, for his Children’s Policy Council going over and beyond the call of duty for children in Cullman County and Alabama.”
Judge Chaney issued a statement on behalf of the local council, saying, “I am very proud that our local Children’s Policy Council was selected to receive this recognition and I would like to thank all the members of the Cullman Children’s Policy Council for working with the Juvenile Court to help identify and address the issues that threaten the health and safety of our children and families.”
