CULLMAN, Ala. – “Toys 4 Tatts is something to help the kids that don’t have anything on Christmas,” said Deep South Tattoos Owner Tanya Moore.
One of Moore’s artists, Jeff “Jazzy Jeff” Robinson, was the brains behind the Toys 4 Tatts, and he shared what inspired him to start the program, which will benefit Cullman Caring for Kids.
“I was an adopted kid. I had a rough start, but I was lucky and was raised by two wonderful people that taught me to be kind, loving, caring and compassionate for others,” he said. “What better way to give back to the kids in need in my community?”
Moore shared how people who are so inclined can participate.
“Anyone that brings a toy in with a $20 value with the receipt will get $60 in ‘tattoo cash,’” she said. “Jazzy Jeff plans to fill a pick-up truck with the toys. The deadline will be Dec. 19 so we can get the toys delivered to Cullman Caring for Kids. We’ve been doing this for a few weeks already; we have a good bit of toys as well. So far, we have gotten great results. So far we have a few thousand dollars in toys and stocking stuffers for 165 kids.”
Those who donate a tory with a $50 value will get $100 in tattoo cash.
For those interested in donating toys, the toys must be unwrapped and unopened.
“I would like to give a big thanks to both my artists for going out of their way to do this, Jazzy Jeff for doing all the tattoos and Heather Wooten for making 165 candy/stocking stuffers for all the kids,” said Moore. “It feels great to give back to the place we call home and we thank God for allowing us to do this and everyone that’s helped bring a toy, given a gift card or sent money; we appreciate the help! Thank you all! Merry Christmas! I’ve been doing business in Cullman for 10 years. Cullman has been a great place to live and raise my family.”
