Obituary: James Junior Quick

Funeral services for James Junior Quick, 93, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 11, 2019 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Good Hope Cemetery, Bro. Jerry Wilcutt and Bro. Dan Cobb officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday evening at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m.

Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Junior passed away peacefully Nov. 8, 2019 at 8:26 a.m.  

He was preceded in death by his son David Michael Quick; parents James David and Addie Bell Hays Quick; and brothers Lellon, Carl, and Earl Quick.

Junior is survived by his wife of 68 years, Shirley Ann Gossett Quick; daughters Rebecca Cornelius (Billy George) and Nancy Pemberton; sons Roy Quick (Teresa) and Greg Quick; 11  grandkids; 22 great-grandkids; five great-great-grandkids; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Junior was a veteran and served in the Navy and Air Force.  After his duty to serve, he returned home to work with his dad.  In 1968, Junior gave his life to our Lord and Savior.  In the early 1970s Junior started and owned his own company, Quick’s Termite and Pest Control. Most people came to know Junior as the Bug Man.

1972 began a new chapter in his life and a new era for Southern gospel music as he organized the Victory Aires Quartet.
