From the Files of 1934:

Spencer Speegle, who is attending summer school at A.P.I., spent the weekend at home.

Miss Lola Beth Francisco, of Nashville, Tennessee is the guest of Miss Margaret Deppe.

Miss Susan Christian is enrolled at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, for the summer. She is a graduate of Berea College, Kentucky and taught in that county last year.

Mrs. A.B. Murphree and Glenn, of Henderson, North Carolina, are guests of friends here this week.

Miss Edna Graham will attend the Epworth League Institute at Boaz, next week.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Deal, of Cleveland, Ohio, spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Kilgo.

The new police headquarters, on First Avenue, will be completed and occupied soon, according to Chief of Police, Jack Tucker.

Reverend Sam Calvert, Reverend A.G. Hembree and J.M. Singleton will conduct a brush arbor revival at East Point, beginning July 22nd.

From the Files of 1954:

Mr. and Mrs. Kreitlein (nee Emma Dahlke) celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on July 12th. They have one daughter, Mrs. Louie Buxton and one grandson, Larry (Butch) Buxton. The Kreitleins have been at the same business location at Fourth Street East since they were married in 1904.

Cullman Police Chief, O.W. Hancock has been given the authority to purchase new radios for police cars.

Annette Gibbs, age 15, of Hanceville, played piano music to win the state 4-H Talent Contest at Auburn. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carter Gibbs.

Berchal Henson, age 22, of Vinemont, was drowned in Sportsman Lake, while swimming on Sunday.

Perry West, a Cullman High student, attending 4-H camp at Auburn, was injured when he fell from a water slide on Friday. West is 16 and suffered a jaw injury.

Osbert Eugene Brandon, a driver for Deaton Truck Lines was killed in a head on collision in Tuscumbia on Wednesday.
