Corey Lawrence Sanderson, 50, of Nolensville, Tennessee passed away Oct. 14, 2019.
Corey is the beloved son of Ralph (Larry) and Reba Nell Sanderson of Cullman, Alabama.
He was a loving husband, proud father, and trusted friend. Corey served with the Metro Nashville Police Department for 26 years. During his long and distinguished career, Detective Sergeant Corey Sanderson received numerous awards and commendations. He earned the trust and respect of all those he worked with. As devoted as he was to his career, Corey’s real pride and joy and center of his focus was his family. Corey loved to spend time with his family at the beach, enjoyed golfing, and was an avid sports fan.
In addition to his parents, Corey is survived by his wife of 22 years, Carey Peek Sanderson; daughters Alece, Taylor, and Emily; sister Susan Sherick (husband Michael, children Matthew and Sydney); Aunt Virginia Campbell (Charles) and many other relatives; and is preceded in death by Grandparents Archie and Ruby Chambers and Ralph and Helen Sanderson; and Aunt Barbara Camp.
Visitation will be at Cornerstone Church, 726 W. Old Hickory Blvd. Madison, TN 37115 Friday, Oct. 18 from 5 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m.
