CULLMAN, Ala. – The final day of the Cullman County Fair was Saturday, and inside the Coca-Cola Theatre, motorcycles were on display at the fair’s inaugural motorcycle show.
Cullman Lion Charlie Childers shared what inspired the Lions to begin a bike show.
“Well, we’re just on the last Saturday and we needed something to put (in) our theater. We got to thinking, and said, ‘We see a lot of motorcycles, a lot of local enthusiasts, so we decided that we’d invite riders up to show off their motorcycles and spend a little time enjoying the fair.”
Childers said the motorcycle show will be back in 2020.
“The turnout this year was a little light. We were hoping for a little more for our first show, but that’s OK,” he said. “We plan to do it again next year, and we’ve taken several good suggestions on maybe some good food and other things that might bring a bit more participation next year.”

- Best of Show – Phil Lindsey’s 2014 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy
- Most Original – Charles Johnson’s 2006 Yamaha V-Star
- Best Custom – Rickey Peek’s 2006 Viper
- Oldest Motorcycle – Charles McBrayer’s 1963 Cushman Super Silver Eagle
