Sept. 7- Farm Kids Club Cooking Class – 9-10:30 a.m.
It is harvest time and farm kids will be cooking up great local recipes! Kids will prepare and taste foods. $5 per child, $10 per family.
Sept. 9, 16, 23, 30- Adult Beginner’s Sewing Class – 6-8 p.m.
This class is designed to teach basic sewing machine skills through making four useful projects. Each participant will need to bring their working sewing machine. Supply list will be sent to registered participants. Cost $20 total. Limited space.
Sept. 10- Heritage Skills Woods of Alabama – 6 p.m.
Local woodworkers teach about native woods, telling their best woodworking uses, and showing projects that are made from each kind of wood. $5 per person.
Sept. 13- Little Farmers Barnyard Dance – 10-11 a.m.
Twirl with the pig, dosey doe with the chickens. See square dancers and dance a little jig. Farm animals to visit. $5 per person.
Sept. 18- Lunch & Learn Planting and Growing Fall Vegetables – noon-1 p.m.
12-1 Free Program with door prizes at each event. New topic every month. Call 256-297-1044 to reserve your seat. Bring your own lunch.
Sept. 26- Living Landscapes Succulent Pumpkin Centerpieces – 6 p.m.
We will create and take home 2 pumpkins. They can be used all thru fall and be the perfect centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table. $25 per person.
Sept. 26- Heritage Homeschool Forestry – 9-11 a.m.
Learn how to identify local trees, discover products made from wood and get acquainted with the forestry related industry in our area from local foresters. $8, $16 per family.
Oct. 3- Living Landscapes Native Woody Plants – 6 p.m.
Come learn about native woody plants from large trees to small shrubs and vines from Extension horticultural expert, Tony Glover from the Cullman County Extension office. $5 per person.
Oct. 5- Farm Kids Club Charlotte’s Web – 9-10:30 a.m.
Pigs to spiders to the fair, come enjoy the world of Charlotte’s Web. $5 per child, $10 per family.
Oct. 11- Little Farmers Cotton – 10-11 a.m.
Let’s have cotton pickin’ good time learning about cotton. It’s seeds, plants and fluff! $5 per child, &10 per family.
Oct. 15- Heritage Skills Trapping and the Fur Trade – 6 p.m.
Many farmers face the dilemma of livestock being the prey of wildlife. If this a problem for you, join us to learn solutions to these issues from the Alabama Trappers and Predator Control Association. $5 per person.
Oct. 24- Heritage Homeschool Owls – 9-11 a.m.
Alabama Wildlife Center will bring their owls and teach us all about their habitat. $8 per child, $16 per family.
