Funeral services for Mrs. Mervel Laney Smith, 93, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Central Baptist Cemetery, Rev. Kenneth Lee officiating.
Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Smith passed away Aug. 30, 2019 at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born May 22, 1926 to James Wesley and Alma Roberts Laney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband W.R. “Jack” Smith.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Barbara) Smith; daughters, Delores (Rickey Shaw, Beverly (Tim) Buckelew; brothers, Tommy (Sherry) Laney, Dwight (Sandra) Laney; sisters, Carolyn Alvis, Grace (Larry) Johnsey; Grandchildren, Stephanie (Richard) Will, Bradley Shaw, Zachary (Beth) Buckelew, Andrew (Tessa) Buckelew, Chris (Karen) Smith, Greg Smith; 15 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be Monday evening at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m.
