PIEDMONT, Ala. – After crushing the Curry Yellow Jackets 37-0 to open the season a week ago, the Addison Bulldogs traveled in week two for one of their toughest matchups of the season. Piedmont is coming off another stellar season and got off to a fast start against the visiting Addison Bulldogs.

Piedmont blocked an Addison punt early in the game and returned it all the way down to the 1-yard line. Piedmont made it 7-0 just one play later and they weren’t done scoring in the first quarter. A 35-yard pick six made it a 14-0 game late in the first. Addison turned the ball over a couple more times in the second quarter, but the Bulldogs’ defense held Piedmont out of the end zone and an Addison touchdown, and two-point conversion cut the lead to 14-8 going into the half.

Addison took its first lead of the game early in the third quarter midway through the third quarter when the Bulldogs scored to move in front 16-14 but Piedmont responded. A 3-yard touchdown run and two-point conversion put Piedmont back in front 22-16 going into the fourth quarter and Addison wouldn’t get any closer than that.

Another Addison fumble led to another short field for Piedmont and a 6-yard touchdown run that made it 28-16 with just over eight minutes remaining in the game. Another fumble and interception from the Bulldogs made it impossible for them to come back late in the game and Piedmont held on to win it 28-16.

Addison will look to bounce back with a win and lose the turnover bug when it hosts Winston County next week.
