Avel Hamilton Swann of Vinemont, AL passed away Aug. 8, 2019 at the age of 83.
He was born July 6, 1936 in Bremen, AL to Leonard H. and Rosie Bell Swann.
He was a veteran of the United State Army.
Mr. Swann is preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Hazel (Willie) Veigl, Gladys (Johnny) Graveman; brother, Wilmer Swann; brothers-in-law: Wayne Holcombe, Dureal Peak and Bobby Weeks; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Haywood (Freda) Campbell.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Campbell Swann; sister, Phyllis Holcombe; brother, Gerald (Nan) Swann; sisters-in-law: Shirley Peak and Faye Weeks; a special son, Jamie (Connie) Lawrence; three great-nieces: Madison Lawrence, Morgan (Bo) Wright, and MacKenzie Lawrence; and a great-great niece, Campbell Rae Wright.
The family will receive friends at Moss Service Funeral Home Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019 from noon until the funeral service, which will begin at 2 p.m. Tommy Graves, James Fields and Carlos Wilhite will be officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
