CULLMAN, Ala. – The United Way of Cullman County (UWCC) this week announced that applications are now available for nonprofit entities seeking funding. The allocations process is how UWCC invests local dollars in the community to address specific community-centered issues.

UWCC released this statement: “United Way is committed to supporting organizations that are working hard to prioritize key issues that face our community and who demonstrate effective ways to address them.”  said Becky Goff, executive director, United Way of Cullman County.  “For 40 years we have strategically invested in local nonprofit organizations and programs that make a difference for children and adults. Each organization that applies for funding is reviewed by a local volunteer committee from our community and 100 percent of our funding decisions are made by those volunteers.”

Eligibility requirements are as follows:

Must be a tax-exempt or nonprofit organization with a 501(c)(3) letter of determination from the IRS.

Must be willing to abide by all United Way policies and procedures including having written by-laws, a governing local volunteer board of directors and submit to United Way financial statements and program outcomes.

Organizations that align with UWCC’s mission to improve lives in the areas of health, education and financial stability and who provide services in Cullman County are encouraged to apply.

The deadline to submit a request for funding is Sept. 9, 2019.  For more information, contact UWCC at 256-739-2948 or dmcdonald@uwaycc.org
