(Update) Cullman man killed in wreck near Johnson’s Crossing

JOHNSON’S CROSSING, Ala. – A Cullman man was killed in a two-vehicle wreck in the community of Johnson’s Crossing Thursday evening.

Cullman County Coroner Jeremy L. Kilpatrick identified the victim as Kristopher Lyn Griffin, 34.

Kilpatrick said the crash happened in the 1600 block of County Road 616.

Alabama State Troopers said the wreck occurred at 4:30 p.m. when the GMC pickup Griffin was driving was struck by a Ford F-250 driven by Jacolby Connway Pitts, 30, of Hanceville. Griffin was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Pitts was not injured.

Nothing further is available as ALEA State Troopers continue to investigate.
