HANCEVILLE – The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament invites everyone to come celebrate Divino Nino Day. On September 6, the Shrine will host a day dedicated to celebrating the child Jesus. Many activities are planned for the day to offer the public a chance to worship and pray.

Among the activities listed is a history of the Shrine talk, holy mass, lunch and rosary and candlelight procession. Tours of the Shrine that will be given in English and Spanish will run every half hour. A mariachi band will also be in attendance to offer musical entertainment.

While everyone is welcome, there are some rules that the nuns of the monastery are asking to be observed. Everyone in the main church and lower church are asked to observe silence. No photography or video recording devices are allowed on the premises. In addition, participants are asked to not wear shorts, sleeveless shirts, skirts or capri pants above the knee.

The gift shop at the Shrine will open at 8 a.m. with history talks beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Shrine will close at 9 p.m. that night. The day promises to be one of fellowship for everyone in attendance and also offer insight into the history of one of Cullman County’s most beautiful churches.
