ARAB – Sophie Raine Henry of Arab, 9, a student at Brindlee Mountain Elementary and daughter of West Point High School teacher and high/middle school scholars’ bowl coach Lee Henry, was recently crowned 2018 Little Miss Alabama.

She has been competing since age 3, winning or placing in numerous local and state pageants. Among her titles are 2012 Tiny Miss Cullman Area, 2014 Tiny Miss Marshall County, 2016 Little Miss Marshall County, 2016 Little Miss Arab, and 2018 Sweet Miss Arab.  This was her first time to enter Little Miss Alabama, a pageant open to girls 19 and younger.

As Little Miss Alabama, Sophie Henry will make at least three public appearances to promote the title and give back to her state and local communities.

Sophie Henry said, “I am very excited, and I can’t wait to see all the people I will meet this year!”

Said father Lee Henry, “I am so proud of Sophie. She is such a sweet and talented young lady who always works hard and has stars in her eyes. I can’t wait to see where all she will go in the future! Hopefully she will remember me when she’s famous!”

April Henry shared, “Every morning, I tell Sophie to ‘Go sparkle’ because she leaves a little ‘sparkle’ wherever she goes. I’m very excited to see what opportunities come her way this year.”
