GOOD HOPE – The City of Good Hope will be serving its 10th annual Community Thanksgiving Meal this Wednesday, Nov. 21, beginning at 11 a.m. at Good Hope High School. The meal is free. To-go boxes and dine-in meals will be available. There is a five-plate maximum per car for the takeout meals.
Good Hope Mayor Jerry Bartlett said, “Anyone is welcome. We served 1,200 plates last year. City employees will deliver meals to those in the community who are elderly, home bound and to businesses. The members of the city council and I will be there to talk and visit with everyone. We are also encouraging those who can to donate to the city’s new food pantry.”
City employees, Boy Scouts, various groups from Good Hope High School and other community volunteers will help serve Wednesday’s Thanksgiving meal, which will include turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, green beans, coleslaw, a roll and dessert. Drinks will be available for those dining in. Food will be served until it runs out.
The event is free and made possible by volunteers and donations from many generous area businesses and sponsors.
