CULLMAN – Five area marching bands competed in competitions on Saturday, Oct. 20. Four traveled to Muscle Shoals to take part in the Tennessee Valley Invitational Marching Competition: Hanceville, Holly Pond, Meek and Vinemont. All four did well, with the three Cullman County bands getting all 1s, and Meek getting only one 2. All were ranked in the top three Best in Class bands in their respective divisions. Meanwhile, Cullman’s band traveled to Hoover for the Hoover Invitational Marching Festival, where it received second-place band.
In Muscle Shoals, Hanceville came home with first-place Best in Class Band honors, while Holly Pond brought back the most individual awards.
