CULLMAN – The Cullman Municipal Pool was located in a lot next to Cullman High School. Not only did it offer endless fun for people of all ages during the long, hot summer days, but it also featured mixed and individual swimming classes. In both springtime and in the fall, the middle school and high school physical education departments used the pool as part of the curriculum.
The girls had the pool to themselves on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while the boys had the pool on Mondays and Wednesdays. Fridays were the only day that both boys and girls shared the pool.
Today the pool is long gone. All that remains of the old swimming pool is an open field of grass and many happy memories.
