Stan and Suzanne Wood, center, of Cullman County were named the Alabama Tree Farmers of the Year during the Alabama Landowners Conference Awards Program Oct. 15 at the Marriott Prattville Hotel and Conference Center. The Alabama Tree Farm Committee selected the couple, who will now compete regionally and nationally representing Alabama. Numerous criterion are used to select a winner, including hands-on management and public outreach.

The inaugural Alabama Landowners Conference was presented by the Alabama Natural Resources Council, the Alabama Tree Farm Committee and the Alabama TREASURE Forest Association.
