CULLMAN – “It’s Band Exhibition week!” Cullman High School Director of Bands Christopher Smith excitedly shouted to the Bearcat marching band at one of its rehearsals this week. Indeed, this Saturday, Sept. 29, the Cullman Band Association is hosting the 35th annual Cullman County Band Exhibition at Cullman High’s Oliver Woodard Stadium. Nine marching bands from all over Cullman County will perform their halftime shows, including Cullman Middle School, Vinemont High School, Good Hope High School, West Point High School, Fairview High School, Holly Pond High School, Hanceville High School, Cold Springs High School and Cullman High School.
Said Smith, “The Cullman County Band Exhibition is a really important event for our community. It’s an opportunity for all of our area bands’ shows, but it gives a chance for bands of Cullman County to see each others performances that we may not get to see because we may not play each other. So, it’s important for our community to see all these bands in one night, and also for all these bands to see each other and support each other in these performances.”
The official line up of the performing bands is as follows:
- Cullman Middle School
- Vinemont
- Hanceville
- Cold Springs
- Holly Pond
- Fairview
- West Point
- Good Hope
- Cullman High School
Gates open at 5 p.m. Saturday, and performances begin at 6. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children/students K-12.
The exhibition will be livestreamed on Facebook by The Tribune at www.Facebook.com/CullmanTribune for those who cannot attend in person.
