4th of July: here’s where you can see some fireworks

8 a.m. Smith Lake Park Fireworks and Music Festival ($5 per person for park admission)

This day-long celebration kicks off bright and early at 8 a.m. and will include arts and crafts, food, contests and live music. The park’s annual fireworks show will cap off the evening at 9 p.m.

According to Cullman County Parks and Recreation: “We'll also have our golf cart parade and other contests for the family. Play putt-putt in the newly updated putt-putt course, and the swimming pool will be open and renting kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards. Park admission is $5 per person. Additional costs for camping, pool, kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and putt-putt.”

 

8 a.m. Town of Addison July 4th Celebration

The Town of Addison’s event will feature a parade, live music and fireworks. The Addison Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring the live music. Several different bands and artists will be performing starting at 5 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. just before the fireworks. The stage will be set up behind the Addison Community Center and concessions and bathrooms will be available. Guests are asked to bring a lawn chair or blanket.

 

4 p.m. Cullman Fireworks Festival at Heritage Park

The seventh annual Cullman Fireworks Festival, organized by Desperation Church, will take place on July 4 at 4 p.m. at Heritage Park. The free family-friendly event will feature a large fireworks show, inflatables for children, games hosted by Desperation Church members, and food available for purchase.

This year's festival will also feature a simulcast radio broadcast for viewers watching the show from areas around Heritage Park. Viewers who want to hear the broadcast, which will be synced with the live fireworks show, can tune into WKUL 92.1 FM or 97.9 Praise FM.

The fireworks portion of the festival is slated to start at 9 p.m. and will last approximately 17 minutes.

 

6 p.m. 17th Annual Fairview Freedom Celebration

This year’s Fairview Freedom Celebration will take place at Randall Shedd Community Park and feature food, live local music and games organized by the local churches. There will be a singing at 7 p.m. Fireworks will start at 9 p.m.
