COLONY – The town government of Colony, at a standstill since last fall due to two town council resignations and the lack of a council quorum, is once again ready to get down to business.  Recently, Cullman County Judge of Probate Tammy Brown swore in Mary Parker and Samuel Ashford to fill the seats vacated by Margaret Jamelle Dimbo and Tammy Malcom.

On the town government’s radar are the reopening of Colony’s community center and gym this summer, a renewal of last year’s highly successful summer feeding program, and a series of summer children’s programs sponsored by the Benedictine Sisters of Cullman.  Air Evac Lifeteam also recently chose a landing site in Colony, near the town hall.

Longer term goals include landing a Dollar General retail store in the town. See www.cullmantribune.com/articles/2018/01/24/colony-fills-2-vacant-council-seats-announces-celebration-colony-event
