FAIRVIEW – The Fairview Town Council voted unanimously Tuesday evening to approve the appointment of Steve Edelman as its new councilman. Edelman, who was not present at the meeting, will fill the seat left vacant by Norman Dye, who passed away in September 2017. Edelman is expected to be introduced at the council’s next meeting in February.

In old business, the council passed a motion to apply a $25 vendor charge for those vendors who want to come in and participate and sell food during the Town’s disc golf tournament in April. The tournament will be held at Heritage Park in Cullman.

In new business, Mayor Keith Henry presented the council with a resolution, which was approved, to apply for a health insurance quote through the League of Municipalities for the Town’s employees. Henry described it as “just a way to see where we stand as far as getting insurance to our employees, to see if our employees qualify to get insurance through the Town.”

The Fairview Town Council will meet again at Fairview Town Hall on Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. Meetings are open to the public.
