Funeral service for Betty Ruth Rodgers Burden, 76, of Vinemont will be at 2 p.m., Monday, February 9th, 2015 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Mt. Vernon First Congregational Methodist Cemetery, Revs. Wayne Jetton and Steve Rodgers officiating.
Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Burden passed away at her residence after a long illness surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 7th. She was born September 6, 1938 to parents, Curtis and Rilla Barnett Rodgers. She was a member of Mt. Vernon First Congregational Methodist Church and always had a sweet kind smile, a gentle spirit and was loved by all.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James E. Burden; brother, Larry Dale Rodgers; sister & brother-in-law, Crystal and Norman Seymore; great-granddaughter, Abigale Gobble.
Survivors include her two daughters, Kathy Burden Clark, Karen Burden (Danny) Sanderson; sister, Hilda (Rev. Steve) Rodgers; grandchildren, Carrie Gobble Gillespie, Trent (Annette) Gobble, Lance Smith, Tyler Grimes; great-grandchildren, Jackson & Mary Grace Gillespie; Weston Smith, Zane Smith, Analyssa Gobble, Memphis Grimes, Joplin Grimes; special friend, Nancy Shockley and a special nurse, Lisa Wilhite; a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday evening at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
