CULLMAN – The City of Cullman Building Department has confirmed the location of a second business in the old K-Mart building at 1731 Second Ave. SW. Tractor Supply is set to relocate from its present facility (1807 Second Ave. SW, immediately south of the new location), next to Planet Fitness, which has committed to move into the center space in the building. The eastern third of the K-Mart store, which included the garden department, will increase Tractor Supply’s indoor retail and storage space.
City of Cullman Building Department Director Rick Fulmer confirmed that a permit was issued to Nearen Construction last Thursday to turn the east end of the old K-Mart into a Tractor Supply. Three days earlier, the Cullman City Planning Commission issued a conditional use permit to Planet Fitness for the center slot in the building. The tenant moving into the west end of the building has not been officially disclosed.
A timetable for completion of the renovation has not been announced, although a statement from Planet Fitness indicated that its personnel are planning for a public opening in late January 2018.
