FALKVILLE – Cold Spring lost a bruiser to Falkville Friday night on the road. The Blue Devils beat the Eagles 63-7 for homecoming.
Falkville started with ball and a promising run, but was pulled back for holding, ending up on the 11-yard line. The Blue Devils were not slowed down; they turned right around and scored. With only 59 seconds off the clock, it was 7-0, with Falkville taking the early lead.
The Blue Devils struck again, with 7:30 left in the first to make it 14-0.
Cold Springs answered with a huge run by Mason Harris, and it was 14-7 after the extra point.
Falkville answered back with a pass, making it 21-7 with Cold Springs needing to do some work in the second quarter.
The start of the second was quiet until Falkville pushed through to get a 1-yard carry into the end zone, making the score 28-7 with 8:47 left on the clock.
Falkville scored twice more, making it 41-7 at the half.
The third quarter opened and the Blue Devils were still on fire, scoring on a run and a good PAT. The score was 48-7 with 4:07 to go in the quarter.
With 6:57 to go in the fourth, Falkville struck again, got the 2-point play and made it 56-7.
Capping off the tough night for the Eagles, Falkville got in one last run and a good kick, making the final score 63-7.
