CULLMAN – A Labor Day traffic stop by Cullman Police Department Officers Cole Kelley and Justin Moser landed a Cullman man in jail on multiple charges.
According to a media release from the CPD, the officers conducted a routine traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Andrew Jacob Maresh, 18. The CPD says that Kelley had probable cause to search the vehicle. Allegedly recovered during the search were two alprazolam (Xanax) pills, approximately 17 grams of marijuana, $1,312 in U.S. currency, $280 in counterfeit U.S. currency (all in counterfeit $20 bills) and a loaded Glock 23 with an extended round magazine holding close to 30 rounds.
Maresh was placed under arrest for first-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. Maresh was transported to the Cullman County Detention Center. He has since made bond. S
