JONES CHAPEL– A Jones Chapel man was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree sexual abuse. Gary Lynn Jolly, 19, was arrested following an investigation into an incident that occurred earlier this summer.
On July 20, 2017, Cullman County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to County Road 1141 on a sexual abuse call. The juvenile victim stated that she was riding in a church van when the suspect, Jolly, whom she did not know, allegedly touched her inappropriately in a private area.
Investigators located and interviewed the suspect where, according to the sheriff's office, he confessed to touching the girl inappropriately.
Jolly was arrested and placed in the Cullman County Detention Center on a $15,000 property bond. He has since made bond.
