CULLMAN – Those hankering for a Milo’s burger with a glass of the chain’s famous sweet tea will have to wait just a bit longer. The restaurant’s official ribbon cutting, planned for June 26, has been postponed due to expected heavy rains delaying the completion of the parking lot. A new date has not yet been set, but The Tribune will share the date as soon as it is confirmed.
Milo’s will be located at 1830 Patriots Way SW, in the south Cullman retail district that is home to CiCi’s and Chick-fil-A.
The Birmingham-based fast food chain is already well-known in the Cullman area for its sweet tea available through local grocery and convenience stores and has been highly anticipated.
“Milo’s is expanding out of the Birmingham area and could choose anywhere to locate; we are glad they have chosen to make Cullman home to one of their 20 locations,” said Susan Eller, project coordinator with the Cullman Economic Development Agency. “This company has a huge following for their sweet tea and I know everyone has been waiting and anticipating the opening of the Cullman location. Milo’s will be a great fit in the restaurant area on Patriots Way.”
The new Milo’s restaurant is a project of Drinkard Development, who this month brought the new Ashley Furniture Homestore to the Town Square Shopping Center. Ashley is open for business and is located next to Hobby Lobby.
