On Saturday, June 15, 1940, Cullman’s Copeland Mattress Factory held the grand opening of its new location. The factory’s new location was five blocks west of C. Arnold & Son on Dripping Springs Road.
This week in 1946, planning for Cullman’s 1947 Strawberry Festival officially began. The planning committee was sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and chaired by Robert A. Young. According to Mr. Young, the committee intended “to make the 1947 festival a bigger and better one, and provide more entertainment and enjoyment for all who attend,” and “would like suggestions from the people of Cullman County.”
On Wednesday, June 17, 1931, work began to improve Cullman’s Musgrove Park. The park- which was owned by the City of Cullman- would eventually receive a full list of repairs and upgrades, including new children’s playground equipment, a tennis court, wading pool and electric lights. The upgrades were sponsored by the local Kiwanis Club.
