CULLMAN – Cullman City Parks and Recreation was recognized recently at the Alabama Recreation and Parks Association’s state conference with two awards: Cullman Mayor Woody Jacobs received the Chester Freeman Park Board Award and Dinner on First won the Innovative Program or Event of the Year for cities with populations 15,000 or more.
Additionally, several other awards were won by the department at the Alabama Recreation and Parks Association District II Awards. Angie Jochum received the Merit in Recreation Award for her work creating a model senior program. Jimmie Dale Burgess won the Volunteer of the Year Award from district II for his work commentating Miracle League softball games for the past decade.
