This week in Cullman history (Jan. 17- 24)
At noon on Jan. 20, 1919, John W. Sparks was sworn in as the new sheriff of Cullman County. Sparks was chief of police for many years before his election as sheriff, and replaced Sheriff A.A. Rollo.
