Funeral service for Margie Faye Filyaw, 85, of Falkville will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, January 25th, 2025 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Emeus Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1-3 p.m.

Mrs. Filyaw passed away January 20th, 2025 at Falkville Health Care. She was born February 11th, 1939 to William Claude and Pearlie Mae Meeks Freeman. She resided in Cullman County most of her life. She had been battling dementia for the last few years and gained her heavenly wings on January 20th. She was a great sweet loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with a heart of gold. Her home was always open to anyone and willing to make you a hot meal and regardless if you were hungry or not you were going to eat. She loved spending time with all the grandkids and anyone else. She loved planting flowers and dyeing her hair. She will be missed by so many. She passed away peacefully.
Margie was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Colonel Ward Filyaw; brothers, Harold Freeman, Hammond Freeman, Virgil Freeman, Horace Freeman, Charles ‘Buddy’ Freeman; sisters, Lilly Freeman, Dollie Burgess, Elizabeth Cooper.
Survivors include her sons, Matt (Brittany) Filyaw, Jeff (Gail) Filyaw; daughter, Cindy (Jeff) Boatright; granddaughter, McKenzie Boatright; grandsons, Andrew Filyaw, Jeffrey Filyaw; three great-granddaughters, one great grandson and family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Zane Aker, Josh Crawford, Jeffrey Filyaw, Andrew Filyaw.
