HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Wallace State Community College announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Samford University providing Wallace State students with a smoother transition from WSCC to Samford University to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
“We are honored to formalize this agreement with Samford University and give our students a seamless transfer to Samford as they continue their education after attending Wallace State,” said Wallace State President Dr. Vicki Karolewics.
“Wallace State students have done well at Samford and we have enjoyed having them,” said Samford University President Beck Taylor. “I hope this partnership opens up new pathways and opportunities for even more students to come to Samford.”
As part of the agreement, Wallace State students may choose between several transfer pathways offered through Samford Online Undergraduate Programs, including a Completer Pathway for students who have earned an Associate in Arts (AA) or an Associate in Science (AS) from WSCC; a Full Degree pathway for those who have not earned an AA or AS; and the Traditional Undergraduate Programs for students who have completed an AA or AS degree or any credits at Wallace State.
A reverse transfer option is also available to award Wallace State students credit toward an associate degree for qualified coursework completed at Samford.
Transfer students from Wallace State may also qualify for scholarships from Samford University as well as scholarships for Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society students. STEM scholarships are also available for students who have completed two years of coursework in a science or math-related field.
