Wallace State Alumni Association announces travel plans for 2025

HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Wallace State Community College Alumni Association announces its travel plans for 2025. All trips are open to the public.

2025 Ozarks Tour – Hot Springs, Arkansas; Branson, Missouri; and Eureka Springs, Arkansas

A five-day, four-night trip May 12-16, will take visitors first to the Diamond Lakes region of Hot Springs, including a trolley tour of Hot Springs and Bathhouse Row. They will then move on to Branson for two nights with an itinerary that will include attending performances featuring the Haygoods, Hot Rods and High Heels, the Uptown Café and “DAVID,” at the Sights and Sound Theatre. The group will then travel to Eureka Springs for a tram tour of the Victorian community and an overnight stay in North Little Rock before departing the next day to return home.

Sites on the itinerary during the trip include the Garvan Woodland Gardens, Top of the Rock, Lost Canyon Cave, Ancient Ozarks History Museum and the historic Crescent Hotel.

Rates per person range from $1,214 to $1,714 based on occupancy and Alumni Association membership status. To register, visit www.wsccalumni.org/ozarks. The deadline to register is March 26.

Opry’s 100th Birthday – Nashville

A three-day, two-night trip to Nashville will celebrate the 100th birthday of the Grand Ole Opry. Visitors will stay at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel July 14-16, and enjoy a Lyrical Legends Songwriter Performance and Dinner, main floor seats at a Grand Ole Opry performance with a backstage tour, an exclusive dinner party with a special appearance by an Opry artist and more.

Wizard of Oz” – Montgomery

A day trip on July 30 to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery will take visitors down the proverbial yellow brick road to enjoy a theatrical production of “The Wizard of Oz.” The trip includes Southern buffet lunch at Plantation House Restaurant and premium Zone A seating for the performance.

The rate per person is $149. Visit www.alumni.org/oz to register. The deadline to register is July 1.

2025 Holiday Tour – Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; and Asheville, North Carolina

The Alumni Association will be traveling to Pigeon Forge and Asheville Dec. 2-5, for a holiday tour that offers multiple entertainment options and a candlelight tour of the historic Biltmore House.

The tour will begin in Pigeon Forge where the group will enjoy performances at the Country Tonite Theatre, a “Remembering Red” Skelton tribute show and the ARRAY Variety Show and meals at Carino’s Italian Grill, Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant and Puckett’s Restaurant.

In Asheville, the group will enjoy lunch at Grove Park Inn before exploring the hotel and taking in the National Gingerbread House contest displays. That evening, they will have dinner at the Biltmore Estate before taking an audio-guided candlelight tour of the Biltmore House.

The travel program is open to everyone. Wallace State Alumni Association members receive a $100 discount on rates for overnight trips. Alumni membership is $30 a year and is open to anyone. Membership fees go to support student scholarships.
