CULLMAN, Ala. – Urologist Rodney Sanders, MD, has joined Cullman Regional Medical Group and will begin seeing patients in the hospital’s urology clinic on Tuesday, Feb. 4, according to Cullman Regional.
Sanders has been caring for patients in the Cullman area as an independent physician for 29 years.
“Adding him to the hospital’s employed physician group further enhances Cullman Regional’s expansion of local urology care including the addition of two more urologists in the coming months,” said a media release from the hospital.
The hospital recently announced that urologist Louis Remynse, MD, joined its urology group and will start seeing patients in January. In March a female urologist, Leor Arbel, MD, is expected to come on board as well. This means that over the next three months Cullman Regional’s urology clinic will expand from one to four board certified physicians.
“We’re proud to grow this service line to benefit our community and believe that the addition of Dr. Sanders is paramount in this initiative,” said Lisa Courtney, vice president of physician services at Cullman Regional. “His patients have come to rely on him, and we want them to be able to continue their care with him.”
Dr. Sanders has practiced urology in Cullman since 1995. He earned a medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis and completed his residency at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston where he served as chief resident.
Cullman Regional Medical Group Urology Clinic will be located at 1948 Alabama Highway 157, Professional Office Building 1, Suite 450, Cullman, AL 35058. Over the next few weeks, Cullman Regional staff will contact patients of Dr. Sanders to confirm appointments scheduled on or after Feb. 4, and provide information about the transition. Patients with immediate questions regarding the new clinic location should call 256-735-5390.
