Obituary: Robbie Mae Hyatt Veal

Funeral service for Robbie Mae Hyatt Veal was held Tuesday, January 7, 
2025, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steton Hayes 
officiating and Peck funeral home directing. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Burial will be at Etha Cemetery. 
 
Mrs. Veal passed away at her home on Thursday, January 2, 2025. She was born 
in Tennessee on December 29, 1946 to Joseph and Minnie Hyatt. 
 
Mrs. Veal was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved her 
children and grandchildren the most in life. She was an LPN for most of her 
working years. She was a caregiver to many and mother to lots. She was a 
genuine person, a queen, solider for the Lord and the closest thing to Jesus 
that her family had ever seen. She could brighten anyone’s day. She was a 
Christian and loved to visit many different churches. 
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Euel Veal, father, Joseph 
Hyatt, mother, Minnie Kimbrell (William), stepmother, Portis Thackston 
Hyatt, brothers Clyde Hyatt, JR Hyatt, Ernest Hyatt, Larry Kimbrell, Tommy 
Kimbrell, sister Geneva Overton. 
 
She is survived by: 
Sons – Rex Terrell Westmoreland and his children JT, Tarena Nicole, Destiny Briana and Dillon. 
– Raymond Westmoreland and his children Levi Austin, Aubrey Jack and Tyler Branon. 
 
Daughters – Rita Gail Westmoreland and her children Jonathon Blake and Joshua Scott Hale 
– Melania Mae Veal and her children Kenneth Austin Veal, Daniel Logan Edmonson, and Angel Spivey Kelly. 
 
Brothers – Robert Hyatt, JC Hyatt, Jimmy Hyatt, David Hyatt, Richard Kimbrell, Randy Thackston and Phyllis Thackston 
 
Sisters – Ema Lou Smith and Joyce Kimbrell Long 
 
Brother-in-law – John David Veal 
 
Sisters-in-law – Linda Gail Veal Holmes and Melba Jane Veal Nelson 
 
Several great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. 
 
Pallbearers will be JT Westmoreland, Tim Stephenson, Mark Kyle, Little Allen 
Ellis, Josh Pratt, Dustin Pigg, Louie Louis, Ken Edmonson and Dylan Sudduth
