JONES CHAPEL, Ala. – On Christmas Day, a multivehicle collision occurred on U.S. Highway 278 West, just past the Sunoco station in the Jones Chapel area.
According to a social media post by the Jones Chapel Volunteer Fire Department on Thursday, Dec. 26:
“Last night, at approximately 5:14 p.m. units were dispatched to a multi-car wreck with reported entrapment. Approximately three and a half minutes later, our first unit arrived on scene and confirmed injury and entrapment.”
It went on to state that additional assistance was provided by the Bethsadia Volunteer Fire Department, the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, Cullman EMS, Air Evac 15 and ALEA, which were all on scene.
“We want to thank everyone involved for a speedy extrication, and wonderful patient care the driver received. Additionally we are glad the other vehicle only had minor injuries,” it stated.
What seemed to help those on the ground during the incident were the numerous bystanders who offered assistance, which, according to the updated post, was also greatly appreciated.
“Scenes such as last night show that there are still great people in the world willing to help out during times of need. We appreciate our wonderful working relationship with our neighboring agencies. We wish everyone involved a speedy recovery.”
